Working on Wednesday

Hi, everybody ... it's me, Tucker!  So last night, Mom came home early from work because they were predicting really bad weather here in Tampa - lots of rain, and possibility of large hail and even tornados!  As someone who's seen the Wizard of Oz a bunch of times, I have a real fear of tornados.  Oz might be pretty, but that witch is mean!  (For the record, the only thing that happened was that it did rain hard enough to knock our DirecTV out for about an hour, but there wasn't anything good on anyway, so that was ok.)

It also rained steadily throughout the night, just the kind of rain that makes really good sleeping weather.  And that was a good thing, because today is a workday, which I was all ready for.  I had my plan all laid out.  A little filing, a little schmoozing with the UPS and Fed Ex guys and the postman, maybe a short walk around the parking lot around lunchtime, a few naps thrown in.  You know, the usual.

Well ... you know what they say about the best laid plans.  I got to work this morning, and all was going well, and then Aunt M.'s bulldog puppy showed up.  Now, she is very cute, and Mom sure likes her a lot, but I am not all that impressed.  She is three times my size and weight, and she is always trying to chew on my legs.  Which, you may have noticed, don't have that much meat on them, and well, I just don't like it.  She is staying for the morning which means that if I want my poor little legs (Mom calls them my toothpicks) to remain unmolested, I have to get off the floor.  So Mom got a fluffy blankie and a little travel pillow out of the car and rigged me up a nice bed on one side of her desk.  It's actually pretty comfy ...

See?

Still ... I wonder how long I have to stay up here?

And here's the perpetrator ... don't let that sweet and innocent look fool you!  If I got down on the floor she would make chew toys of my legs in three seconds!

You look sweet and cozy in your bed on your Mom's desk! The bulldog looks kinda ferocious. Maybe every time she comes over, you should just give her four rawhide bones and tell her they're to replace your four legs!

HAHA!

I used to have a Bulldog puppy stay with me once in a while. Emma and Charlie would barricade themselves on the bed (she was too, uh, low to the ground to reach it - small just isn't an adjective I can use for her) and refused to get off and mingle at all.

Tucker, that looks like a most comfy place to spend the morning in safety!

I think I'm scared of your visitor's teeth!

Tucker, I'd kick that little rascal out of the cubicle! Nobody chews on the princess! I am glad you were able to safely avoid the mayhem!

Hi Tucker,

Thanks so much for your kind words for Sweet Pea. We will definitely look into Vitamin B injections, thanks. He LOVES meat baby food, actually anything with beef he likes - he doesn't like turkey or chicken anymore. He eats a lot, but he continues to lose weight ...

Your pal, Pip

Your bulldog cousin sure does look sweet and innocent, but we're happy that you were able to get away from her for a bit. Everyone needs a break from the youngsters!

That puppy may be sweet and innocent, but then what's he doing with those GIANT TEETH? Your mom should not allow him ANYWHERE NEAR YOU. Maybe we can pass a law or something.

@ Carrie - thanks for visiting - I hadn't seen your blog before, but am following it now. Great stuff. I'll definitely participate in the hop on the 6th! Not only are we practically neighbors, but we seem to have similar taste in names. (I have a cat named Tanner and another cat named Olivia. I also once had a greencheeked conure named Oliver.)

@ Cooper & Lola - I checked out your blog last night during the blog hop, but couldn't figure out how to follow you since you aren't on Blogger. I didn't see a subscribe by email button such as I use with other blogs. Help me out!

@ Pip - has Sweet Pea been tested for hyperthyroidism? Seems like a lot of the symptoms fit - good appetite but losing weight, lack of interest in grooming, etc. Check out

We'll be purring for Sweet Pea.

@ Everyone else - thanks for the comments. Tucker was able to get down from the desk around 1:30 pm and was able to finally get some work done.

Thanks,

Tucker's Mom
