Our first holiday card!

Hi, everybody!  Hope everyone is having wonderful Wednesday!  Halfway through the week ... I think I can see the weekend from here!

If anyone is counting, there are 17 shopping days remaining till Christmas!

And we received our first holiday card in the mail today!

It was from Mom's friend Brittany and Phoebe's and my pup friends, Bama, Brodie, and Allee!

Mom put it up on her cubicle wall ... isn't it a cute card?  And the picture is, of course, of our buds (from left to right):  Bama, Brodie, and Allee.  You can't see Allee too well, because, being a Scottie, she's all black.  But aren't Bama & Brodie cute?

Merry Christmas, guys, and thanks for the love!

Look ... it's Santa Paws!

Ha ha, only kidding!  It's only me in my red blanket coat!  (I have a T-shirt on underneath here, too, because it is COLD today .... 38 degrees, which in Florida is pretty cold!) I'm keeping warm, though, and I'm really happy because I'm back at work today!  Mom's office was moving to a new place last week and it was too hectic for me to come.  Now they're somewhat settled in the temporary office space while their eventual new office is being fixed up for them.  Mom's office will look out over the marina, which she is excited about, and apparently manatees will come right up to the seawall and beg for lettuce.  I'm looking forward to checking those guys out.

Happy Tuesday, everybody!

Home For The Holidays ...

Good evening, friends!  It's a chilly, windy evening here in Tampa, and as I snuggled up on the couch today with Phoebe, both of us wearing T-shirts against the chill even though Mom had the heat on for us,
(sort of like this, except that we were wearing T-shirts today, not going naked!) ...

I reflected upon the fact that, as I wrote in my recent Story of Me post, it was almost exactly seven years ago when I joined my family, just in time for Thanksgiving.  And now that the Advent/Christmas season is upon us, and the weather has turned cold, I find myself even more thankful than usual to have found a home not just for the holidays, but forever.

Because there are so many other wonderful dogs and cats who so deserve a loving home like Olivia, Tanner, Phoebe, Finn, and I have, but probably won't ever get one because there just aren't enough to go around.  Mom also says that the green papers are harder to come by these days, and that we must consider ourselves very fortunate.  We try to give as many green papers as we can to organizations that help needy animals find homes, but Mom says it would take way more green papers than we have to save them all, which makes her, and us, really sad.

Then, every so often, she gets the urge to torture herself check the local shelters and see who is up for adoption.  Today she looked at the adoptables from The Humane Society of Tampa Bay .  And as usual, she found several little ones that she would love to give a home to.

She particularly took a shine to Trouble, Fluffanutta, George, Clarice, Dash, Donovan, Malachi, Scarlet, Javier, Norman, and Marley, but about the only thing that stopped her from running down to the shelter this very afternoon and adopting Sox (a six year old male Chihuaha mix) was the fact that apparently he needs to be an only dog.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that with all these great cats and dogs out there so badly needing homes, I feel especially glad that I found mine.  So this Christmas my wish is not for more toys or treats, but that allthe homeless cats and dogs out there get homes where they will be loved as much as I am.  And if you know anyone who IS looking to bring a dog or cat into their home, please tell them to check their local shelter first.  The companion of their dreams might just be there waiting for them!

Happy Holidays!

Cat with a bag ...

So Mom went shopping with Aunt K. and their friend S. yesterday.  I generally don't care all that much for shopping, so I wasn't that fussed to be missing out on the excursion, but then she came home with a bag from one of our favorite stores!  The store ladies there always give Phoebe and me cookies when we go there, so I was sad to have missed it.  And to add insult to injury, she said that I can't see what's in the bag because it's a secret.

Tanner couldn't resist hopping up to take a peek, but he won't tell me what's in there.  Grr!

Oh the weather outside is frightful ...

Hi, everybody!  It's me, Phoebe!  And actually, I was just being silly.  The weather is not frightful at all.  It's rather nice, actually ... true, it's a bit chilly, but that's ok.  It's just the excuse I've been waiting for to wear my new leopard print coat that Aunt K. got for me.  Thanks, Aunt K!  I love you so much!  You are the best aunt ever ... as well as my style guru!

Photo shoots can be so tiresome
