The cookie gods are smiling!

Happy Tuesday, everybody!

A few months ago, I had posted about how, on a routine trip to the green paper store with Mom, the cookie gods had slighted me most grievously when they failed to allow the little plastic thing that carries the green papers back and forth to also carry me a cookie, which is what I have come to expect over the years.  For the rest of that day, I was in a state of dejection and disgruntlement, if not out and out despair.  I wondered and I worried.  Had I done something to offend the cookie gods?  Mom assured me that no, I had not, but still I worried.

Well, friends, today my faith in the cookie gods has been restored!  I am once again in the good graces of those unseen, but still powerful, cookie dispensing deities.  This very afternoon when I accompanied Mom to the green paper store, I watched in a state of great anticipation when the plastic thing zipped down the tube.  Would there be a cookie inside, for moi?  The answer was ... no.  There were TWO!  I was elated!  Enraptured!  Ecstatic!

I am not, however, a glutton!  I ate one on the spot.

This one ...

I am saving for later!

Have a great day, everyone!

We think the cookie gods must have realized their mistake and were tortured with guilt, waiting until they could see you again!!!

Tucker, that is the best news! I'm glad your pals at the green paper store remembered to make it up to you!

Oh, SO much self-control!

But lemme complain about a related issue. Have you ever noticed that lots of places have cookie jars for the WOOFIES yet almost NEVER is there a companion treat jar for US! Now granted, we less frequently accompany our Humans out into the world. BUT BUT BUT it's the principle! So what if we are not physically there? Wouldn't we appreciate a cookie being brought home to US? HUH? What about THAT?!?!

Aren't surprises delightful? Tanner and Oliver, however, NEVER (no never!) save one. That would be self-sabotage for their later snacktime, as it would be sure to be found and devoured by the other if left unattended. Unattended=unwanted!

You're a lucky guy.

Excellent! You are smart, and must have learned something about saving when you visited the green paper place! Well done. Have a wonderful weekend!

TWO cookies - WOW - the cookie gods must have been feeling really bad about shorting you a cookie last time you visited.

I don't know why it took me so long, but I just discovered your blog. I love the 50 shelters in 50 states project that your mom is doing! Can you have her e-mail me when she has a minute? My e-mail is dogfostermom@aol.com. Thanks!!
